TUWON: Redefining Luxury as a Journey of Becoming
Founded in London by Charles Banigo, Tuwon is a purpose-driven luxury brand built on the belief that greatness is a journey. Designed for individuals moving toward their next chapter whether in ambition, career, or personal growth the brand creates refined backpacks and accessories that move with you.
Charles's journey began at Middlesex University, where he studied product design and developed a deep understanding of how ideas evolve into objects. During his final year, his dissertation explored a concept that would later define Tuwon: taking small, often overlooked details and transforming them into something entirely new. By reimagining scale such as expanding a paperclip into furniture or sculptural forms he began shaping what would become the brand's Rescale philosophy.
After graduating, a moment of observation in central London sparked the next step.
Surrounded by backpacks that felt uninspired, Charles saw an opportunity to create something different something that combined design thinking with purpose. What began as early prototypes soon became the foundation of Tuwon.
Even the name itself carries meaning, derived from a mispronunciation of his middle name an accidental moment that became intentional, much like the brand's design approach. As Tuwon evolved, so did its identity. What once began as a design-led idea grew into something deeper: a brand rooted in purpose. This led to the foundation of its core values aspiration, journey, heritage, innovation, and creativity each reflecting both the brand's philosophy and Charles's own path.
Today, Tuwon stands as more than a luxury brand. It is a reflection of progress, a companion for those becoming who they are meant to be. As it expands into new collections, Tuwon continues to redefine luxury—not just as what you carry, but as what carries you forward.
